Norwegian singer Karin Wright describes her material as country music
with a scent of rock'n'roll and that about sums her up perfectly
.

She loves both genres and has made up her mind to do what she loves the most and can't live without. If there's any artist she can be compared to it must be Lucinda Williams. They both are country rockers with an honest and true approach. There are soft country ballads and rough rockers on this album. Let's hear about it with one of the most famous guitarists in this world:

«There's been blues and there's been country music. And let's face it, those are the two vital ingredients of rock'n'roll.»
- Keith Richards

She has developed her own musical signature, characterised with a strong presence in her work. Whether she's in the recording studio or on stage. Uncompromising, real, almost skinless... Her lyrics are strongly lifted by good melodies.

"It doesn't have to be perfect - it just has to be right"
Fra “You’re the Man” (2011) Karin Wright

On the album she is accompanied by some of Norway’s finest musicians. They all have their musical background from rock, blues and country music. On the title track a couple of members from the rockgrass band Hayseed Dixie joins her on fiddle and banjo.
In a time where a whole generation is looking for quick solutions, and short cuts to success, Karin is a hard working artist who's built herself a musical platform... brick by brick.

On "Too Rock'n'Roll For Country - Too Country For Rock'n'Roll" she leaps into a new dimension of her musical universe.

This is the real thing from an artist with integrity!

"HUNTING A DREAM" MUSIC VIDEO (2010)

SOME PREVIOUS WORDS FROM THE PRESS:
Norway's own country queen is slowly but surely winning the DJs over in the rest of Europe. And she's done it the hard way. She came into the music business fairly late in her life with her debut album released back in 2004, but it's with her very personal and very honest current album, "Hunting The Dream", that she has made people stand up. The new single is as earthy as it comes - "Lonesome Prison" is exactly as you would imagine it to be - raw and full of emotion.

Norwegian singer Karin Wright describes her material as country music with a scent of rock'n'roll and that about sums her up perfectly. The Oslo gal will be celebrating her new album by the time you read this on her own label. "Hunting A Dream" is the album title but "Bar Thing" is the choice for the first single. With influences that range from Patsy Cline to Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones you know you're in for a rollercoaster ride with this lady with a no - nonsense approach.

Over to Norway next, check out the album by Karin Wright. Karin is a singer songwriter and has written 8 of the 10 tracks on the album. The exceptions being "Bar Thing" quite a rocky number that was released as a single, and a cover of The Eagles "Wasted Time". Her own songs range from the stone Country sounding on "Some Believe" and "I'm With You" to the rockabilly "Hit Me With It Darlin'" Her Country numbers remind me of early Loretta Lynn. Meanwhile, "Down The Road" and "Indian Warrior" have a more folksy feel to it. With Norway attracting so many big Nashville names and festivals these days, perhaps we should take notice of the artists who are the main players in what is becoming the "Nashville of Europe"! Karin Wright certainly deserves your attention.

Slipp denne skjulte skatten inn i varmen!
